Enjoying Chill Island

Cococay chill island

Chill Island is the perfect spot for for a more relaxed atmosphere for you and your family. This area is designed for those who want to unwind and enjoy the beautiful Caribbean scenery.

We were really looking forward to that day at CocoCay during our Royal Caribbean cruise. And Chill Island is where we settled most of the day. Our young boy (3 years old) really enjoyed playing with the sand while the older one (8 years old), attempted snorkeling for the first time in his life (sadly, he didn’t have a chance to try at our Cozumel port day).

Here are some of the best things to do on Chill Island with your kids:

Beach Fun

Chill Island boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean. The crystal-clear water and soft white sand make it an ideal spot for swimming, building sandcastles, or just lounging in the sun. There are plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas available for rent, so you and your family can relax in comfort.

If you want to take a break from the sun, you can rent a private cabana on the beach. These cabanas come equipped with comfortable seating, a mini-fridge stocked with water and soda, and a personal attendant who will take care of all your needs.

Snorkeling

Chill Island is also a great spot for snorkeling. The water is teeming with colorful fish and other marine life, and there are plenty of snorkeling tours available for those who want to explore the underwater world. You can rent snorkeling gear on the island, or bring your own if you prefer.

If you’re new to snorkeling, there are plenty of guides available to show you the ropes. They’ll help you get comfortable with the equipment and teach you how to spot the different types of fish and coral.

Experiencing Up, Up and Away

One unique way to experience the beauty of CocoCay with your kids, is Up, Up and Away. This helium balloon ride takes you 450 feet above the island, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding turquoise waters and lush greenery.

The ride is suitable for all ages, so you can bring your little ones along for the adventure. Once you’re up in the air, you’ll have plenty of time to take in the stunning scenery and snap some photos with your family. Plus, the balloon is tethered to the ground, so you don’t have to worry about any unexpected turbulence.

Tickets for Up, Up and Away can be purchased in advance or on the day of your visit. Keep in mind that the ride is weather-dependent, so it’s a good idea to check the forecast before you book.

Overall, Up, Up and Away is a must-do experience for families visiting CocoCay. It’s a fun and memorable way to see the island from a new perspective, and it’s sure to be a highlight of your cruise.
